Free speech is only defensible when it is not libel, defamation or injurious to another human being. Goldwater’s attack was a baseless assault on other humans already called indefensible names and tortured enough. Goldwater deserves all the derision and scorn we can throw at her. That is real free speech.
Sometimes the last laugh is the best one. But not all the time.
