“The Alberta Job.” Will the original “Self Preservation Society” get to keep the Tory gold? Is Jim Prentice – above, not exactly as illustrated – the man to help them do it? Read on to find out why we’ll probably never find out. Below: The actual Jim Prentice. Below him: Possible, rumoured, putative PC leadership candidate Stephen Mandel.
The question Jim Prentice really needs to ask himself is this: “Do I really want to ride that bus all the way to the bottom of the cliff and be sitting in it when it bursts into flames?”

Impressionable English Canadian youngsters tune in to SNN for sinister ideological conditioning by RWN (right-wing nuts) on the staff of the PMO-favoured network. Below: PKP and his now-ex wife (NXW), grabbed from the Internet; SNN broadcaster Ezra Levant.
Oh, H-E-double-hockey-sticks, PKP wants another D-I-V-O-R-C-E!
This time, having just given his common-law wife of a decade the old heave-ho, it’s from us!

Sun News Network gets ready to take Phase II of its campaign for subsidies on the road. Actual action plans by the right-wing broadcaster in light of the CRTC’s denial Wednesday of free cash from consumers and a favourable location on the TV tuner may not turn out to be exactly as illustrated. Below: Sun TV VP Kory Teneycke, commentator Ezra Levant.
Canadians troubled by the loony right Sun News Network’s tireless campaign for “mandatory carriage” on cable TV and the forced subsidies from consumers that would have gone with it are entitled to feel some satisfaction at this week’s (Read more…)
The Wicked Witch of the West from the Wizard of Oz. Below, Ezra Levant in an orange wig with a can of Orange Crush mocks Jack Layton’s funeral. RIP or give it a rest?
Oh my – quelle horreur! – naughty Britons still appalled by the depredations visited upon their country by Margaret Thatcher’s government have shocked and appalled the world by pushing “Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead!” to the top of the charts.
In case you missed it, the former British prime minister, who was in office from 1979 to 1990, died on Monday at 87. But (Read more…) took until yesterday for the song from the Wizard of Oz – an apt metaphor itself for the operational side of neocon governments everywhere – to mischievously reach No. 1 on the British Broadcasting Corp.’s weekly music chart.

Would you pay $8,679, or even $2,952, to be trapped for nine days aboard a boat, even a very large boat, with Ezra Levant, Michael Coren, Brian Lilley and a host of other sorry reruns from the Sun News Network commentariat, not to mention the communications vice-president of the Canadian Association

Sun News Network commentator back in the day complaining about how media outlets want the government to solve everything. This goes for Sun News Network and its financial problems too, it turns out. Below: Anti-choice Sun News commentator Michael Coren.
As part of its full-court press to get the CRTC to approve a better spot for it on the dial and give it access to direct subsidies from Canadian cable TV users, Sun News Network is begging anti-choice groups and their supporters to write the national broadcast regulator to support the far-right vanity broadcaster’s application.
“Sun News is the strongest

…or are they just trying to screw Michael Coren? This is the second bit of embarrassing Michael Coren footage to have appeared within the last couple of days.
The first can be found here (although, truth be told, the audio looks to have been fiddled with–and there’s an edit at the 7 second mark–but the gestures are all real).
Perhaps not coincidentally, Sun News is making a 2nd attempt at getting mandatory carriage. The decision on this, I hear from company insiders from the management layer, could come down at any time. And, I am told, the station is done like dinner if

Apparently, the twitter account @ChiefSpence does not belong to Chief Spence; Ezra spent a whole day trashing the wrong person. They’re not too happy about it either. Meanwhile; fellow Sun TV personality Michael Coren…unchained. I sense another CBSC complaint in the making.
Last month, two shooting incidents landed Toronto in the national news because of the links to gangs (including this in which two people, including a child, were murdered). These two incidents were preceded another gang related shooting which resulted in the death of one man.
In their coverage of these incidents, the msm have been rhetorically asking what can be done to solve the problem of gang violence. Municipal, provincial, and federal politicians have also been very publicly wrestling with the problem, including at least one who suggests that it might be an immigration problem.
But there are those

Last night, after watching my wife toy with a hapless life insurance salesman for several hours, I found myself too tired to check my email. So this morning I find that who but Sun TV has left a message asking me if I’d guest on Coren’s show today and talk about the state of the White Supremacist movement in Canada (riffing on the Wisconsin killings, obviously)? That interview will air at eight tonight; I’ll post the youtube clip when it becomes available.
It went well enough. Coren slightly left-footed me towards the end when he asked me straight out

Personally, I think we all give far too much attention to that parody-of-news-organization known as Sun TV. From the puerile rants of Ezra Levant to the sanctimonious pronouncements of religious hypocrites like Michael Coren, Sun TV is an egregious insult to anyone with a modicum of critical-thinking skills.
Yet here I am, adding to the cacophonous denunciations of this propaganda wing of the Harper Conservatives. Oh well, I will blame my lapse on the oppressively humid weather outside (now 41 degrees with the humidex). That, and this blistering article from Rabble.ca exposing the organization for what it is. You know I’ve seen the original clip (below). Michael Coren says the Jews control Hollywood and use it as a platform to trash Christians. Then he walks it back and suggests Jews don’t control Hollywood, but are so influential there that they can use its resources to make movies that trash Christians. Its really that plain.
So it is passing strange strange that B’nai Brith’s Frank Dimant should have so vigorously defended Coren. Or rather, it isn’t given who Dimant typically pals around with, but still it does him no credit that he should give Coren a pass on

I didn’t see it, because its on Sun TV and, lets face it, NOBODY was watching. But U.S author Shmuley Boteach (his real name) claims Michael Coren told him that the Jews control Hollywood and essentially use it as a base from which to undermine Christianity. Amazing, if true, how specimens of the modern Right can be so pro-Israel on the one hand and traffic in all the old stereotypes on the other.
Michael speculates as to who the aggressors in The Liberal War On Xmas might actually be–those shadowy folk who are always trying have it cancelled, or trying to replace “Merry Xmas! with “Happy Holiday!”, or trying to have the whole thing renamed ”STFU Day”, or who go to the mall and tell all the kids in line that its not really Santa, and he probably drinks.
