Christy’ the ‘Campaigner’ Cleaned Our Clocks!
Status quo politics have little resonance with the majority and they stayed home in droves.
The disconnect on the centre-left side of the political spectrum cannot be ignored any longer.
Now the NDP must get back to where they once belonged. It is time to reinvent themselves and get back to a more engaging style of politics.
They have not offered a relevant option to the voters. There was no emotion, no hope, no vision.
Adrian Dix was honourable, cautious and chose the intellectual high road. That approach while (Read more…)

Christy Clark and the BC liberals have made a lot of bold claims about their position on pipelines proposed for British Columbia.
However, what they have neglected to tell British Columbians is that their government has (Read more…)

Maroc called this morning to chat about the election that is rumoured to be underway. He was amazed how few signs were out and how it seems surreal in its lack of urgency or spark!
What has changed? Well grass roots activism within the political parties is far less than it used to be. I suppose too many figured that it is a cakewalk for Adrian Dix and the NDP so hurry up and let us vote already.
Yikes! That is worrisome. The NDP will only win if the troops get out and vote. We have (Read more…)

Much money has been made and a great deal of environmental damage has been done through the practice of ‘Fracking’ or Horizontal Hydraulic Fracturing.
Canadians have had a heads up following horror stories in the US but never mind there is money to be made. The politicians of all stripes are as weak as water when it comes to regulating, reporting and permitting of these fracking operations.
BC and Alberta’s energy resources used to make the provinces hum, but today the difficulties are becoming harder to sweep under the carpet.
Check out this report from Fracking Canada and then question

It struck me from the outset that the Natives were Canada’s best chance for pushback against corporate and oil and gas interests. Who else could or would stop the Enbridge Pipeline, the Keystone, the Pacific Trails Pipeline, the fracking?
The NDP today is a mere shadow of the past progressive force that it was for decades but today they essentially have turned their back on those left of centre voters.
Yes, they stand against Enbridge Pipeline but are in agreement with similar forces when it comes to fracking and they are awkwardly straddling the fence when looking

BC NDP Leader Adrian Dix is offering BC Voters, including the business community, a thoughtful and measured approach to governing after years of a troubled and polarized BC under the control of the BC Liberal government.
Give him credit for showing up and speaking truth to those who have been told to be afraid of him and the NDP policies he espouses.
One of these days the MSM will actually report the truth about the economic performance of the BC NDP when last in office rather than glibly re-tell the established misinformation campaign line of NDP mismanagement that has been contradicted

Laila Yuile has drawn the conclusion that as things evolve Opposition Leader Dix may well be the next Premier and if he is and then if he kicks a separate BC Assessment into play there could be trouble.
How could this possibly, you ask increduously? Read on

Kevin Logan’s career has been diverse, ranging from small business to NGOs through finance and government.
“I have a plan!.”
David Black, an international Newspaper Magnate and BC Liberal insider, rolled out his 13 billion dollar pipe dream today claiming to be a “quiet environmentalist” who incidentally buys his ink by the barrel and owns a 150 newspapers. If that nugget was not outrageous enough he carries on to explain how his coastal refinery will overcome climate
