Guess what’s got councillors’ goats this morning? It seems the Central Park Steering Committee were informed in September, 2011 that the YMCA lost out on a provincial/federal grant it was hoping to obtain — that’s that $3 million grant referred to by Y CEO Rob Armstrong in a letter on council’s agenda on July 16, and the reason the Y wasn’t able to move ahead with the pool, but needed to get going on the second phase of the reno at the Y (which included the lockerrooms).
While it’s all moot now, what with the town going ahead with Aug. 27 decision, this morning councillors — understandably — are asking, “WTF?”
If I was told something about 10 months after I probably should have been told something, I think I’d be asking ‘WTF’ as well. Will keep you updated…
